Here's a trailer for Netflix new Trojan War Thingy
The black guy was yelling for Hector in an unfriendly manner. I checked IMDB and sure enough, he's Achilles.
You can make an argument for a few black Romans. Especially if you are talking the late Imperial period, there were undoubtedly a few by then.
There were no sub-Saharan Mycenaeans. There just weren't. And sad thing is that at this point the producers feel there is no need to provide even a fig-leaf of an explanation for their unreality. Twenty years ago, if a ninety pound woman was kicking the ass of a two hundred fifty pound man, they would explain that either she had superpowers or was triple black belt. But now, nothing. No explanation required or needed, she's just a bad-ass.
So what's the problem with that? Some may ask.
The problem is that when you tell a big lie often enough people start to believe it. Today our entire national defense is being undermined on the ludicrous premise that women are just as strong as men and the facts on the ground truth is that they just aren't. They are about as strong as your average fourteen year old male... Or David Hogg.
