Blogs and Ends: Overwatch

I felt compelled to take down the old "Blizzard Has Just Boss Trolled the SJWverse" post on the grounds that it is now clear that they did so only accidentally.

While the quality of their work indicates Blizzard is not as yet SJW converged because it's too good, they are clearly SJW amenable.  Part of this I suspect but cannot possibly prove is that when they came up with Overwatch (a superhero game) they felt compelled to employ comic book writers.  As we all know comics were completely SJW converged decades ago.  Once that camel's nose was invited under the tent flap the rest of the dromedary soon followed and it has now begun the process of crapping all over the floor.

The first character to be poop splashed was Tracer back in Christmas.  The Saucy Londoner type was suddenly turned into the Saucy Lesbian type.

Tracer appears to have been a special target for the SJWs because of their temporary roll back when the game first debuted.  Also she is the character on the box which means she is very high profile in the game's marketing.  Turning her into an "at risk person" was a high priority for the Hivemind.

Tracer as a muffdiver is a profoundly stupid idea from a business standpoint. Gamer lifestyle tends to attract Omegas and the truth is that Omegas don't have a lot say in whether or not they hit that lowest rung on the socio-sexual ladder.  Autism is what it is.  But here is the big point.  These poor, sad lonely guys usually have to settle for their waifu.  Now as sad as that it is, what is a hell of a lot sadder is Blizzard suddenly informing them, "sorry kid.  Your imaginary girlfriend doesn't' want you either."

It's contemptibly stupid but the SJWs aren't noted for their business acumen.

Overwatch's newest hero is hilariously SJW friendly robot.  Orisa started off as a police omnic in Overwatch's magic kumbaya city of Numbani.  An African metropolis which has very little to do with the Africa that I am familiar with.  It is clean for a start.  There are no terrifying diseases or cannibal warlords.  Everything works...well actually that part does fit with actual Africa.  Their mechanics ability to keep a thrity-seven year old Mercedes up and running is nothing short of heroic.  It's a tribute to both the ingenuity mechanic and the build quality of Mercedes and it's rather racist to deny them that laurel.

In some bit of narrative that we haven't seen yet, Doomfist attacks the Numbani Airport.  Then the most ludicrously SJW friendly child genius imaginable pops up and decides to rebuild one of the security droids that got mulched during the attack.

Already one of the world's foremost centers of scientific discovery and exploration, Numbani has a brilliant new mind to add to its ranks: Efi Oladele. In the last year, she's built a resume of impressive achievements in robotics and artificial intelligence, but perhaps most remarkably is that she's done all of this by the age of eleven. Last month, she became the most recent recipient of the Adawe Foundation's prestigious "genius grant," in recognition of her many accomplishments. She is undoubtedly someone whose career will be watched with great interest.

I will be starting MIT in the spring semester.
I wanted to go in the Fall but mama says I can't leave the county while I still have my clitoris.

On to the new character.

Why does a robot need a loin cloth?
Also Orisa is a quadruped so loin cloth is probably in the wrong place
Unless it isn't...
...Which is even more worrying

I've played Orisa on the PTR a few times.  I am not impressed.  Don't get me wrong she is not as utterly useless as Sombra and it will be nice to have people lining up to play tank for awhile. But there is nothing new here either.  She just borrows several abilities that were already in the game and doesn't do as good a job with them as the original characters.    Her shield isn't really as good as Reinhart's or even Symetra's although I grant it's much better Winton's.  Her damage is pretty much middle of the road for a tank. And her Fortify ability looks to be the most useful as it can negate some infurating tactics by other players.  On the other hand  The mini-graviton surge looks to be useless.  .

I will grant that the roll out was no where near as terrible as it was for Sombra.

I saw a couple of guys use the graviton surge pull people off of cliffs so maybe it'll be mainly for griefing.

Do you think that Terry Crews will voice Doom Fist and do you think that's the sickest shit?

(I deleted my comment because I spelt Terry's name wrong)

Crews would be the biggest name they've ever signed as an actor but that said, he's not the most expensive guy out there either.

I like Terry Crews' work and I think he'd make a great Doomfist, however...

The clip of him saying he was Doomfist strongly indicates that he isn't. Crews as an actor would have had to have signed an ADR contract and there is no way he would have been making fan clips after that.

Now that said, the response has been so positive that Blizzard may have decided, "ya know I think we got somethin' here."

My kids were talking about the character.
"She's a girl robot."
I asked how a robot could be a girl?
"She's has girls voice."
Any good?
"Not really."
