Last night's award show was a travesty! A disgrace! A horror! I have never seen rightful winners so shamefully shafted in the name of Political Correctness.
The Golden Raspberry Awards honoring the worst that Hollywood has to offer was held in parallel to some other industry awards show last night. Past winners for worst picture of the year have included Battlefield Earth, Wild Wild West, and Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. But last night's awarda ceremony will remain infamous in film history.
Batman V Superman was the rightful favorite to win worst picture of the year.. Yet it lost to a vastly superior work. BVS was a terrible and pretentious flick with a gargantuan budget that incompetently butchered out an American icon in the name of a establishing an unwanted mega-franchise because Disney has one.
And it got robbed
The winner of last night's Golden Raspberry for worst picture was: Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party by Dinesh D'Souza.
Worst Director: Dinesh D'Souza (Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party)
Worst Actor: Dinesh D'Souza (Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party)
Worst Actress: Rebekah Turner (also in Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party)
Frankly there were a lot more deserving performances than miss Turner's. There were easily a ton of flicks that were worse out there than a no budget documentary that pulled in 13 million at the boxoffice and had no advertising to speak of.
The truth be said even the nominating process was a mockery and a perversion of justice this year. The two worst pictures weren't even mentioned. Ghostbusters and Sausage Party should have been battling it out for the prize yet they weren't even given a passing mention in the nominations.
Look the Razzies were never all that important but they were kind of useful when they started. They would shine a spot light on some of the worst trends that Hollywood was indulging itself in and everyone in that business had to at least notice if they won a Razzie. Occasionally it was even used as a means to mainstream a mea culpa. Halle Berry famously accepted her Razzie in person for her performance as Catwoman. Ultimately the Golden Raspberries were a means to try and improve their industry.
But not anymore. This year the Razzies decided they just had to go SJW and do it in a big way. And so a 37 year reputation for singling out the worst in the motion picture arts and sciences is now soiled forever.
