I recently became aware of this...well I'm not certain what to call it.
School of thought? No.
Political movement? Hardly.
Philosophy? Gotta call it something I suppose. We'll have to go with that.
In my own case I would call it near Clinical Depression, over Obama's reelection.
Primarily a right wing...philosophy (shrugs), it finally came to the attention of the press. Who was of course immediately declaring it, Worrying and Dangerous. Sounded like my kind of people. I decided to check it out.
Jamie Bartlett who appears to be the kind of Communist that actually admits to being a Communist and is now writing for a right wing newspaper (the state of the right wing across the world, sigh). Says that it is, "a sophisticated but bizarre online neo-fascist movement has been growing fast. It’s called "The Dark Enlightenment". Its modus operandi is well suited to a digital society. Supporters are dotted all over the world, connected via a handful of blogs and chat rooms. Its adherents are clever, angry white men patiently awaiting the collapse of civilization, and a return to some kind of futuristic, ethno-centric feudalism."
Any chance we can pull it off?
Whatever the hell it is we are trying to pull off?
Apparently, no. But he promises, "I’ll be keeping an eye on them, and report back here with any interesting developments as they happen."
You do that Jaime, you do that.
